Coach Blue
<3
Before posting the blog I have been working on, I want to acknowledge the great loss that occurred in my hometown (Easton, MD) last night. My high school soccer coach, Matt Blue, died after living with colon cancer for more than a year. I consider Coach Blue a friend as well as a significant mentor for me, both on and off the field. I thought of him every day of our 4K For Cancer journey and shared his story and impact on me in our dedication circle on August 4th in South Lake Tahoe. That day ended up being one of my most physically challenging days but also one of the most beautiful and memorable, thanks to Blue. He was one of the most impactful people in my life and I know dozens of people can say the same thing. I’d like to dedicate an entire post to him in the future, sharing specifics about our relationship and how he helped make me the person I am today.
If you’re in a position to do so, the Blue family has a fundraising page where you can donate to support them and read more about Blue. I am so grateful for all he gave me and wish him peace in whatever happens after life on earth. If anyone from the Blue family is reading this, thank you for being incredible people <3
